Ever buy (and inhale) a bag of pita chips at the store? Make them at home instead and save yourself about $5 and, we promise, they’re even more delicious. Already got pita bread around and worried it’s a bit stale? Perfect for chips!

1 6-pack of pita rounds (like Amado’s white or whole wheat)
Olive oil or camelina oil
Seasonings of your choice

Preheat oven to 400 F. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut pitas into wedge shapes using a pizza cutter or knife. (Like a thinner, crisper chip? Separate the two sides of the pita first.) Spread the triangles on the baking sheet, they can be pretty cozy but they need to be in a single layer. Brush on the oil, being careful not to soak the bread. Sprinkle with your choice of seasonings (see below for some ideas or invent your own!) Bake for about 5 minutes, turn the chips, then continue to bake up to another 5 minutes, until they are crisp and lightly brown. Let cool; they will continue to crisp as they cool. Store leftovers in an air tight container for up to two days (as if they’ll last that long!)

Delicious all on their own, or serve with your favourite dip, like hummus or guacamole.
